Time for nutritional advice
At Big Dog we find giving good advice extremely important. With 12 years of experience in the pet food industry, we certainly know what we are talking about. To keep our knowledge up to date, we regularly attend training courses, workshops and lectures to keep up to date with the latest developments in (animal) nutrition. This way we always provide the best nutritional advice for your four-legged friend.

Grow with your pet
Our advice applies to both adult and younger animals. Because what few people realize is that a dog develops so much faster than a human:
- Within 12-18 months the animal is fully grown (think, for example, of a one-day sheepdog that fits in the palm of your hand and 6 months later rises above your knee!)
- A puppy is born without teeth, and between 3-6 weeks he gets his baby teeth. From the 4th month onwards, the baby teeth fall out and the puppy will have adult teeth within 2 months. In humans this happens around the age of 10-11 years and ends around the of !
- A human begins to reach sexual maturity around 12-14 years of age. A dog within 7 months!
- The life expectancy of a human is 80 years. From a (small) dog 12-14 years old
Knowing this, it is not surprising that we have to be alert to what is needed in terms of nutrition in which phase (puppy, adult, senior). Big Dog is happy to help you in every phase. We are ready to answer questions such as:
- What is the difference between crispy chunks and pressed chunks?
- What is the difference between the brands? What should you pay attention to?
- How do you read an ingredients list?
- What is KVV?
- What is fresh meat?
- How often should I feed my puppy?
- My dog is 7 years old, should I switch to senior food?
- Should I give vegetables to my dog?
- Which snacks are healthy for his teeth?
And many more questions that we are happy to answer! Please note that we are not a replacement for the veterinarian and/or other specialists. If we have any doubts, we will always advise you to contact your veterinarian. We enjoy working with them as a team to achieve the best results.
